Though I’m still not entirely sure why, Wildlands is getting its very own PvP mode. A free update called ‘Ghost War‘, which will pit two teams of four against each other because… training exercises? That’s what I think they’re basing it on, anyway, we have a dev diary giving us a better look at what the game will actually be, how it will play, and most importantly, when we can expect to get our hands on it. Well, at least, sort of.
There’s an Open Beta on the way soon(?), across all platforms, and the final product, so to speak, is due out this “fall”. The video itself is… actually kinda’ hilarious. They’re trying too hard to make it sound tense and meaningful, because your choices really matter! If your friend is down, will you revive him, or look for the sniper?! Srs bsns! I mean, yeah, that’s an important choice in the heat of the moment, ’cause that sniper might explode you in the butt too, but to say that it makes a difference in the grand scheme of things… well, a lot of people do fixate on their KDR I suppose.
Will you read this news, or scratch your arse and sniff your fingers?! Your choice really matters! And yeah, I’m gonna’ play it, shut up about it!
NEW FOUR-VERSUS-FOUR MULTIPLAYER MODE COMING IN A FREE UPDATE FOR ALL TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON WILDLANDS OWNERS
LONDON, UK — July 21st, 2017 — Today, Ubisoft announced an upcoming beta test for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ player-versus-player (PvP) mode, Ghost War. The open beta for Ghost War will be available on all platforms later in the summer, and the full mode will release as a free update to all Ghost Recon Wildlands owners in the fall.
In Ghost War, two groups of players will team up to take part in a four-versus-four team deathmatch experience that builds on the tactical squad play from the main game. Teams will choose from a roster of varied classes that fill specific roles on the battlefield, as they navigate large-scale, open maps and take down their enemies. Ghost War will also integrate new PvP mechanics, including suppressing fire and sound markers, to create a true military strategic, team-based multiplayer mode.
Developed by Ubisoft Paris*, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is a military shooter entirely playable in up to 4-player co-op or single-player from the beginning to the end. Players have total freedom of choice to accomplish their missions and watch as the world reacts to their actions. Players can choose to move quietly in the night, go in loud at dawn, or work together to execute a sync shot that takes out enemies in one fell swoop. Each choice, however, has a consequence, and players must improvise or adapt their plans to ensure the completion and success of each mission.
