Coming as one of the more heralded titles in terms of Microsoft’s “Play Anywhere” series, Gears of War 4 developer The Coalition revealed last week that the game’s campaign would ship with local split-screen co-op play. This also comes on the news that the game’s campaign, Horde mode, private multiplayer matches and versus AI games will allow players on both Windows 10 and the Xbox One to play together, a first for the series.
Earlier this summer, The Coalition also revealed that a whole suite of video options, including supersampling up to 4K resolution will come with the game, and that the campaign frame rate will be unlocked, though the multiplayer will be limited to 60 FPS. Perhaps in response to the negative press that Gears of War Ultimate Edition received earlier this year, Gears of War 4 looks to launch on PC right, when it comes out on October 11th.
