In the frontier, life is varied, sometimes brutish and short, but never dull. Thus is the vision behind Respawn’s sequel to one of the breakout shooters of 2014, and it’s what Titanfall 2 hopes to impart. Beyond every setpiece moment, every engaging and unique combat experience is a moment of calm, some puzzle-platforming elements mixed with weapon usability. A number of bosses and quixotic characters cross paths with Jack, the Pilot, and his adoptive Titan, BT, throwing even more variety and depth to an already surefire improvement over the original’s “campaign”.

Though we’ve still yet to see how the story plays out, our chance comes when Titanfall 2 drops on October 28th.
