DOOM received an update recently, and it’s a good one. The 5th free update, besides adding the usual stuff like new skins/armour, game modes, SnapMap modules and bug fixes, is Bringing back the Bots. This is surely to increase the longevity of the title, as well as bringing reassurance that even if the multiplayer dies off, you can still have a few rounds in your favorite blood-soaked demon slaying game.
If that’s not enough, Bethesda/id Software dropped the Denuvo DRM from the game. The reasons aren’t clear and there are multiple speculations, but whatever it might be it is surely good news for PC gamers, and another reassurance that the game will still being playable after a number of years. All that’s left now it seems, would be the ability to fully mod DOOM, and then we’ll be back to the good old days.
