Diving Into Fallout 4’s New DLC – Far Harbor

DLCs in Fallout games are known to be special journeys. Each bringing their own unique touch to the game and letting players enjoy more nuclear wasteland adventures. While the 2nd DLC for Fallout 4 wasn’t taken positively (getting mostly negative reviews on Steam) this one looks like it’s going to flip things back around.

Far Harbour seems to be taking place on an island away from the main map of the game. You presumably have to rescue a daughter of a fisherman from creatures lurking in the surrounding waters. If you played Fallout 3’s “Point Lookout” DLC then you’re probably receiving some Deja Vu. The stories do seem to be pretty similar but I’m sure a lot of things will be different.

Now to debunk the trailer through some Fallout lore, so spoiler warning for some of the main game plot-points.

You can clearly see in the trailer good ol’ Valentine from Valentine’s Detective Agency. You seem to be helping him with this case in Far Harbor where you must rescue the daughter of the elderly man seen in the trailer. The gigantic fish monsters seen throughout the video are probably the creatures that are harming the town and possibly taken the old man’s daughter.

People on the island seem to be spilt judging by some of the dialogue in the trailer. A woman talks about the people of Far Harbor “Deserving to know the truth” while on the other hand a man talks about people just needing to believe in “Atom”.

Now for the juicy stuff. “Atom himself”.

“Atom” and “The Children of Atom” have been seen throughout Fallout 3 & 4 with some side quests related to believers in the almighty “Atom”. In the trailer you can see a guy with an atom shaped mask ruling over civilians. Will we finally meet the legend known as “Atom”? I’m guessing we will since we see him in the trailer.

Shortlist for other things shown in the trailer:

– A New Island
– Boat Riding
– New Creatures
– New Weapons, Armor and possibly Power Armor
– New Characters
– New Quests
– Various New Locations
– Possibly New Workshop Items
– A Large Lab With A New Type Of Synth
– Various Other Things I Probably Missed

Far Harbour launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on May 19th. So get your gear on and go kill some lake monsters!
