While many titles at Gamescom were small indie titles, Dishonored 2 was not one of them. Bethesda and Arkane Studios brought us a 2 minute showreel of new powers, combat, movement, and all the important gameplay bits and pieces that made its predecessors a breakout success. It’s looking like Emily can do a lot more with her powers than Corvo ever did. She can turn into a assassinating shadow beast, link people together so if you kill one they all die, enter bullet time with a slide, and most importantly fight off new, difficult challenges with speed and flashy, cinematic assassinations.
The last half of the trailer was showing a fight with one of the blade-armed robot enemies we saw in the cinematic trailer, and boy are they vicious. Even after ripping its head off it’s a tough opponent, and Arkane did a great job of showing off how all of her powers fit together to fight opponents like this. Now there’s actually a reason to block other than just style points!
You can expect to start jumping on robots, assassinating guards, and blinking through hallways when Dishonored 2 comes out on November 11th, 2016.
