Previously we ran through the details about upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, Curse Of Osiris which is set to launch in December. From the second livestream, which you can watch above if you’re so inclined, we’ve got new info on what to expect on Mercury.
The new patrol zone will feature the biggest public event in the game – in it you’ll hunt gatekeepers and find keys to access new areas that you normally wouldn’t be able to go when patrolling. We’ve also got news about the new social space, the Lighthouse; first up is The Forge, a Vex weapon wall that shows players progression, helping you build various weapons that can be used end-game. The new social space will also feature its own mysteries for players to investigate, and Brother Vance will give out new adventures.
Heroic adventures will be making an appearance too: the modifiers that were previously a part of raids will start being applied to adventures to make them more varied and challenging. That should help shake up repeat plays of the events. Strikes will also be shown more as part of the main story in Curse Of Osiris.
The Infinite Forest will also play a large part of the Mercury experience. It’s a Vex simulation they’re using to explore simulated pasts, presents, and futures, to aid in their quest to eradicate life in the universe. In game terms, it means players will have a difference experience every time exploring the different time periods. You’ll be sent into the forest by Ikora Rey, in search of Osiris who was last seen in there. You’ll see different versions of Mercury throughout time, and adventures will have different combat races, one time you might be facing the Hive, another the Fallen.
Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
