Official Press Release

Shiro Games, the studio behind the indie hit Northgard, is thrilled to announce the release of their new co-op roguelite Darksburg on Steam (PC) on Wednesday September 23rd.

The game will be launched after a six-month early access period which saw the game evolve massively. Initially conceived as a four-player co-op fight through a medieval town to escape zombies, Darksburg has now taken a roguelite turn and is now one of the few cooperative roguelite on the market.

Working with the most prominent community feedback, the team has polished the main game mode, named Outbreak into a procedurally generated, infinitely replayable cooperative roguelite campaign.

The result is a singular, fast-paced game where you need to improve your playstyle and technique each time you come back to life.

In Darksburg, no matter the size of your party (from one to four players) the game will adapt and the difficulty will scale to ensure that each run remains challenging. They can choose from among five survivors each with their abilities, passive skills and perks: Dolorosa, a macabre medic and Varag, an escaped wolfman but also the vicious and compassionate Sister Abigail, Runolf and his deadly ladle splash and finally the bounty hunter Rose & her chipmunksquirrel Twig.

The objective will then be to make your way through each neighborhood of the city, using your abilities and making the most of the items you’ll loot along the way.

Every run is unique as the whole environment is procedurally generated, enemies and objects are spawned randomly.

Darksburg release version will be available on Steam $19.99, €19.99, £17.99.
