Civilization VI “How to” YouTube Series

Civilization VI is officially out, and leave it to Firaxis Games to make a great, complex turn-based strategy game. Who knew that ruling over empires would be so hard? To help you get over that complex part, 2K and Firaxis, Civilization VI’s developers, have released a short, six-part video series about “how to” play their game.

How to Take Your First Turns
How to Explore
How to Deal with Barbarians
How to Make Diplomacy Work
How to Get Help

There are 19 civs, six resources, complex diplomacy algorithms, randomly generated tiles, and raging barbarians to defend against. Opponent civs are going to be trying to “Genghis Khan your China” if you know what I mean, so it’s best to jump in and figure things out fast even if things seem initially overwhelming.

Civilization has never been as hard to grasp as Crusader Kings II or Europa Universalis, nor does it want to be, but every newbie could use a hand in passing those first few turns and dodging random barbarian spawns. Good luck, and remember to never anger Gandhi…or else.
