BATTLETECH Pre-Alpha Gameplay

So, it seems an unlisted video has been leaked everywhere, but it shows off the current pre-alpha gameplay of BATTLETECH.

In their hotel room before GenCon we have Jordan Weisman, Mitch Gitelman, and Mike McCain showing off the current build that exists of BATTLETECH, and also how bad McCain is at playing the game. We didn’t get to any melee, but we got an idea of how movement and firing orders work, as well as various bits of UI for combat, heat management, and such. We also see a critical shot to the head of an Atlas, thus taking out the pilot, a very short landing run for a Leopard class drop-ship, as well as tactics to help get missiles on targets the pilot can’t see.

There isn’t much outside of combat, but the game is already shaping up to be worth watching. If you want to watch more Mech combat, and Gitelman playing a drunkard with only one eye, the HRPG YouTube channel has videos of their Friday games.

If you haven’t backed BATTLETECH yet and want to contribute, there is a second chance on Backerkit for various levels and items, including the bagel fund (after Gitelman was found to be too drunk to work, the alcohol got removed) to help keeping the guys working.

If you are lucky enough to be a GenCon or at Mech Con 2016 where HBS will be, go on over and have a look and possibly a play of the current build. And if you have, drop a comment and tell us what you think of it.
