If you had to ask most people, a combination of a slug and a cat would not make for a very adorable animal. The team over at Videocult, disagree, and their partnership with Adult Swim Games is bringing Rain World, a saga of slugcat survival to Steam on March 28th, as we reported earlier.
Leading up to its release, Videocult has released the opening cinematic to Rain World, which sees one slugcat torn from its family during a rainstorm, thus begins the struggle for survival with platforming that takes you across 1600 rooms, and a constant threat of rain and a need for resources.
Rain World is hoping to bridge a gap on both PlayStation 4 and Steam tomorrow, March 28th.
March 23, 2017 – Slugcats are small nomadic creatures, frequently considered a tasty meal for hungry carnivorous beasts. As a group, slugcats make for more difficult prey; they are known to be especially cunning and protective of their kin, even going as far as to use weapons to fight back against larger foes when necessary. So while slugcats are very low on the food chain, they are often able to work together to stay out of harm’s way.
This was true for our slugcat hero―until the rains came.
Carried into a strange land of industrial ruins, you must journey ever farther for sustenance and shelter. Use stealth, wit, and well-timed pounces to capture and feed on prey while constantly keeping an eye out for larger creatures who are doing the same. In Rain World’s living ecosystem, creatures act according to their own survival instincts and learn from each encounter.
Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries when Rain World releases on March 28.

The game is pixel art / grid logic! 1366x786 is the resolution you want if you are using a 16:9 screen. Basically, you should only need to mess with the settings if you encounter letterboxing!
