Windjammers 2 – Gameplay Trailer

Posted on 15 Mar 2019

Windjammers is an almost top-down, utterly ludicrous frisbee game where two players on a court attempt to score points by wanging their brightly coloured disc into the opponents goal. Imagine Pong but with insane special abilities. The original was released for the Neo Geo AES back in 1994 and only got re-released on a few consoles more recently. Dotemu aren’t leaving us PC gamers out in the cold this time though, Windjammers 2 will be releasing on PC too. No word on a release date yet.

Bring the Stadium to a Roar with Blazing Power Disc Action on the Nintendo Switch and PC

The diehard retro fans at Dotemu today share further proof they’re making the impossible a reality with the debut of Windjammers 2’s power disc-slinging gameplay. The striking reveal of the game’s gorgeously fluid art in motion introduces another entirely original character, Max, and shows series favourite Mita in full force alongside the previously confirmed powerhouse Wessel and newcomer Grace!

Today’s video also introduces a portion of the fresh abilities Windjammers 2 will allow athletes to leverage on the court, adding another level of depth to the world’s most iconic frisbee sport. Competitors can incorporate all-new jumps, smashes, and slapshots into the all-out performances they put up on the court, making Windjammers 2 a true elevation of the series’ style of action so revered it’s found a home among the fighting game esports community.

Windjammers 2 channels the original hit’s infectious attitude in beautiful hand-drawn animations, making each match a gorgeous showcase of entrancing action. Bursts of colour and totally fly visual effects bring the series’ signature flair to life, making every scored point look and feel as badass as Tony Hawk’s 900 at the X Games.
