The Endless Day… In Space 2

Today marks the beginning of ‘The Endless Day’, a celebration by the studio to honour its sixth anniversary. Amplitude studios are a modern gaming success story, they started as indie devs just six years ago, they went from working on a niche game (Endless Space), to revitalizing a genre (4X), to mastering it (Endless legend). Last year they officially relinquished their status as indie devs when they signed up with Sega.

In the past I’ve had some concerns about Sega’s marketing practices and their poor communication. However, Amplitude have been with Sega nearly six months now, and they’ve only continued to support and include their fan base in their game design process, as can be seen by the Games2Gether project. In fact, this level of community inclusion by a big developer is almost unheard of.

As part of The Endless Day celebrations, Amplitude have revealed the latest faction for Endless Space 2; The Horatio, who will be available to Early Access customers early February. The Endless celebrations also continue over the weekend with various promotions, giveaways and surprises for their fans.
