Mortal Kombat XL on the PC Horizon

Ed Boon and Mortal Kombat are no strangers to polling for their next patch, and after over 10,000 votes, the good gamers of Twitter have decided that Mortal Kombat XL for PC and better netcode (the quality of online connection in matches) for Mortal Kombat X should be the next project over at NetherRealm Studios.

Mortal Kombat XL is planned to be a complete pack version of Mortal Kombat X with all the characters, skins, and extras that have come out on top of the base game over the year. It’ll include all 9 DLC characters including Predator, Jason, Triborg, and Alien, as well as a few extra trophies to get.

As for the PC netcode issue, it’s a longer story. MKX PC netcode has been seriously lagging behind the quality of console versions of the game, and things have tragically been that way for months now. The reason why NetherRealm hasn’t fixed this yet has largely been unanswered too, but the problem is known, and this poll is the first step to fixing it. There’s a lot more to it than that, but those are the basics. For more info, check out Maximillion’s detailed breakdown MKX’s netcode.

No date yet, and no confirmation that the polling will lead to a final result, but NetherRealm has a good record of responding to playerbase reactions like this.
