Memory Invading Shooter, Get Even, Out Now

Get Even is one game I was really looking forward to all year. You may have heard of this game from a while back, as it was one of the highest profile games to adopt the photogrammetry technology (real world scanned images).

From The Farm 51, comes a gritty thriller that is in the vein of Condemned: Criminal Origins, F.E.A.R. and Manhunt, that really puts some neat twists on old ideas. You are “Black” (you can’t remember your name) and your only contact is “Red”, who use essentially an HTC Vive to dig through your memories looking for clues to solve a mystery. Did I mention that when you are unplugged from the machine, you are in an OCCUPIED mental asylum? So you got that to worry about… but the best part is you get a bad-ass gun that can shoot around corners or over cover (think of that drug store scene from Wanted).

The game also is one of the first mainstream games to use Auro-3D, a three dimensional audio renderer that accurately simulates directional sound in the environment. Having used it, I can say that it’s terrifying to hear a crazy ass patient banging his head against a wall through a vent and hear another singing a messed up rhyme at the same time in another section of the Asylum.

If you like a good scary and intense story driven shooter, exciting new tech in games or just using a gun that fires around corners, then check out Get Even, now available on Steam.

And welp, confirmed, Steam or the devs for Get Even don't understand what "This game is excluded from Family Sharing" means, because downloaded it, installed, and launched it, and played the first level. Hmmmmm... strange, but I'm not complaining, I get to play it now and it's quite nice looking too, feels like Outlast meets Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

I gotta admit, I'm intrigued. Unfortunately steam indicated that this is NOT a Family Shared title, which kinda leaves me unable to try it. Ah well, in due time. :D
