Edge Case Games has announced that their 5v5 space MOBA Fractured Space is officially leaving Alpha and heading into Beta on September 15th.

Fractured Space has been in Alpha on Steam’s Early Access for almost two years and has been quite successful, growing from a bare bones game to a fully-fledged game with over 20 full customisable ships, with customisable load outs and crews. Designed with the intensity of a shooter and with the big picture thinking of a strategy game, you command gigantic capital ships in pitched battles against other players, having successfully attracted over 600,000 players with open development where developers will often talk to the players.

If you are lucky enough to have a PAX West ticket then head on over to the Fractured Space booth, chat to the developers or have a go at the game yourself and find out what is going to happen, as there will be a big reveal of some finer details of the upcoming launch.

This is a nice game thats come a long way, but I feel it needs some more 'oomph' or excitement to attract the crowds. Even copying some more common MOBA mechanics like spawning creeps (smaller ships) the constantly attack the enemy, or something else to make it more engaging.
