As mentioned last week, Free to Waagh has arrived for Eternal Crusade, with a special discount until next Thursday! How can you have Free-to-Play with a discount? Simple, the usual way, just release the base game, but keep a couple of the more tantalizing things locked behind a paywall, of course.
There’s nothing that unusual about Behaviour Digital Inc’s business model, in fact compared to many other game that go Free-to-Play, their model is very reasonably priced, £15 for the premium game (faster progression), £27 to unlock all the extra bells and whistles including four “special classes” (or purchase them as separate DLC for £15 each). I just take exception whenever I see something “free” that also has a price tag.
