Not too long ago we told you about how Harmonix had set up a crowd funding campaign on Fig in order to fund the creation of a PC port of Rock Band 4. Time is up for the campaign and, unfortunately, it has not met its funding goal of $1,500,000.

Harmonix took the time to write a full campaign post mortem over on the Fig campaign page, which you can read here. In the final update, Harmonix express thanks to all of their supporters and answers a few pressing questions from backers. Namely, what are the chances of a PC version ever coming to fruition?

Harmonix explains that whilst the failure of the campaign does appear to demonstrate that “there doesn’t seem to be enough of an audience to make Rock Band for PC a viable project for us right now,” this does not completely rule out the possibility of a port in the future. They elaborated that a PC port of Rock Band 4 is “certainly in the realm of possibility [and they] might try again in the future, or find another path to get Rock Band for PC made.” However, all of that said, they concluded “We love the PC as a platform, and we’re excited by the possibilities and freedom it allows for User Generated Content, but right now we don’t have any specific plans to make it happen.”
