Obsidian Has Ideas, Fallout Ideas.
Obsidian are full of ideas. Just a few days ago we reported on their ideas and wish to do a sequel to KOTOR 2, and now we are getting some insight into what a possible Fallout sequel from Obsidian could look like. Rock Paper Shotgun interviewed Obsidians CEO Feargus Urquhart in Las Vegas recently, where they prised some information of their Fallout plans,
"So I think if we were to do Fallout: New Vegas 2 – or just a new Fallout – we would probably separate it from what the internal team at Bethesda’s doing. We’d keep it on the West Coast, because we’re West Coast people. They’re East Coast, so it makes sense". He went on to say that "And we need an interesting confined area. So I mean, it could be LA. Fallout LA. That could be interesting. It’d probably be The Boneyard, which is from Fallout 1. It could be very different. It could be almost a Walking Dead meets Fallout-like thing because of all the radiation".
I'm sure many gamers would agree, but I would love another Obsidian developed Fallout game. Whilst no concrete plans have been made, when RPS spoke with Bethesda's Todd Howard, he agreed with the Obsidian view that another New Vegas, or Fallout in general, would indeed be great.
If you think about it, Obsidian developing Fallout to be published by Bethesda is the ultimate partnership, as then Bethesda can focus on the next Elder Scrolls! Or am I getting ahead of myself?
